A native of Florida, Dr. Nelson completed his undergraduate work at Florida A&M University and University of Florida in Pre-Med Science. He became a Physician Assistant where he obtained his training in primary care, infectious disease and emergency medicine. He received his medical doctorate from Barry Podiatry Medical School. In Miami, Florida, Dr. Nelson completed his internship at Miami VA Medical Center and Mt. Sinai Hospital and his podiatry and orthopaedic surgical residencies at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center. In fact, he wrote and developed the first podiatry residency program at Aventura Hospital and became the first resident there. His other postgraduate training is in wound care, hyperbaric therapy, and pediatric flat feet surgery. He has been in business for over 20 years and continues to take advanced postgraduate courses and seminars.
